Sustainable Exhibition Design: From Myth to Reality

Who says sustainability in trade show exhibits is only about certifications, sacrifices, or aesthetic compromises?

For us at DASS, it is first and foremost a way of designing, building, and collaborating — a conscious approach that puts materials, people and processes at the center.

Sustainable for the environment, but also for clients, for production timelines and and the lasting value each stand creates.

For 30 years, we have been working in Exhibit Design with a concrete and responsible vision, because we believe that when sustainability is real, it shows in the results.

Sustainable Materials: Thinking Beyond the Event

For DASS, sustainability starts long before the event. We design temporary and permanent exhibits with constant attention to the life cycle of materials, prioritizing solutions that are high-performing, reusable and built to last beyond a single show.

From the concept stage, we evaluate each project in light of technical regulations, assembly timelines, and venue requirements, minimizing waste of both resources and time.

Thanks to our in-house warehouse, we can store and refurbish previously used materials, reintegrating them only where necessary — always maintaining the highest quality standards. This approach encourages reuse and reduces environmental impact without compromising the final result.

Client-Focused Sustainability: Predictable Timelines, Transparent Processes, Measurable Results

Being sustainable also means being reliable. Our in-house creative team — architects and designers — works hand in hand with the technical department, providing tailor-made guidance that supports the client from concept through to execution.

When collaborating with architecture studios or external agencies, our technicians assist the project by evaluating and proposing the best construction solutions, fully respecting the creative vision and deadlines.

During the implementation phase, each project is overseen by a DASS project manager who is intimately familiar with every creative and technical detail. This approach ensures efficiency, control, and peace of mind for the client, even in the most complex trade

Sustainability Across the System: Recognition for Responsible Efforts

A responsible approach creates value across the entire supply chain. Increasingly, organizers and events are recognizing stakeholders who invest in sustainable exhibition solutions.

At EICMA 2025, projects developed in collaboration with brands such as Triumph Motorcycles Italia and Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. were acknowledged for their efforts in material recovery and reuse, achieving significant results under ISO 20121 certification.

From “two wheels” to the pharmaceutical sector: at CPhI 2025 in Frankfurt, we worked with our clients to implement solutions that move away from single-use stands, earning recognition such as the Better Stand Gold award.

Looking ahead, we continue to invest: in 2026, we will install photovoltaic panels at our headquarters and keep exploring new materials and certified partners. For us, sustainability is not a destination — it’s a shared journey.
